Hot on the heels of Glen Shiel’s remarkable Group 1 victory on Champions Day, stable companion PARENT’S PRAYER recorded another notable success for Archie and the team at Saxon Gate just 24 hours later.

The three-year-old daughter of Kingman landed the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Garnet Stakes, a mile Listed race for fillies and mares at Naas in Ireland, under Irish based jockey Ben Coen.

Third in Group 3 company at Gowran Park in September, Ecurie Ama.Zingteam’s filly produced a timely career-best performance on soft ground to win with plenty in hand, much to her trainer’s delight.

“Parent’s Prayer was very impressive,” says Archie. “She travelled through the race exceptionally well and put the race to bed easily in the straight.

“Ben Coen gave her a lovely ride and she clearly enjoyed the soft ground. She has improved all year and is a very talented filly.”

Winner of a seven-furlong Ayr maiden in July, Parent’s Prayer made up significant ground mid-race before taking up the running about a furlong and a half from home and asserting to beat Best On Stage by three lengths.

The daughter of a Listed winner, she will remain in training with Archie next season when she will be campaigned at a higher level.

“She will have the winter off now and be aimed at fillies’ Group races next year,” adds the Group 1-winning trainer.

“I am delighted for Ecurie Ama.Zingteam who have a very valuable filly now and I’m looking forward to enhancing her profile in the new turf season.”
